Medium Short: … and Sweet
Receiving good signals on the heels of hard work
--
Welcome to the latest Medium Short, a weekly accountability practice highlighting what I’m up to along the unmarked trail to #IndustrialHealing, where hackers still hack but forward progress continues. Reminder: all my Medium articles are linked for free here.
It’s been a big push of a week. But instead of that feeling of pushing string, wondering if anything is amounting to anything, I felt a few things fall into place. I got a spot as speaker for Medium Day, I received rewarding feedback on Matereal World, and I had a hilarious conversation with my former running self.
My LinkedIn account is still hijacked. A few people are telling me this is sabotage targeting me specifically. I doubt I will ever know. Regardless, I’m reaching folks through other channels (like you, here, now). And I’m asking people more directly to share anything they find useful (thank you!), and to provide feedback (got any?).
It’s amazing what happens when we ask for what we want.
Here’s the week that was…
Sharing the Mischief on Medium Day
I will be speaking at Medium Day! Woohoo! I will share more details and a link to my session as soon as I have it (note to self: double back and edit this) [edited: thank you, self — here’s the link for my session at 2:30ET on Saturday, August 12]. And thank you again to all those of you who chimed in when I asked for feedback on my pitch. We did it :-)
Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to putting my new speaker training to work. I’m midway through the Lisa Nichols course, so this feels like a wonderfully timed gift.
To remind myself and anyone else peeking over my shoulder, I have done a lot of public speaking. I love sharing what I’m learning and receiving feedback from an audience in real time. What I haven’t done is a lot of presenting since I unplugged from paid sustainability consulting and leaned into Industrial Healing.
